Privacy policy
Last updated: September 6, 2026
VZen provides a website, a learning app, and a teacher studio. This policy explains how we handle information when you use these services. For privacy questions, contact the VZen team at admin@youka.io.
Information we collect
We process account details such as your name, email address, profile image, account identifier, and authentication records. We also store information you provide or create in VZen, including learning preferences, invitations, progress, messages, conversation transcripts, feedback, consent choices, and teaching materials.
When you use voice features, your microphone audio is processed to support the conversation and may be transcribed. Technical information, such as device and browser details, network information, error reports, and service activity, helps us operate and troubleshoot the service.
Google sign-in
If you choose Google sign-in, Google shares your basic profile information and email address with our authentication provider, Clerk, so we can identify you and create or connect your VZen account. We request only basic identity scopes: OpenID, email, and profile. This does not give VZen access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, contacts, or calendar.
We use Google account information for authentication, account management, and related support. We do not sell Google user data or use it for advertising. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
How we use and share information
We use information to sign you in, deliver lessons and conversations, save progress, manage teaching content, respond to support requests, and maintain service reliability and security. AI services process conversation content to generate responses; avoid including sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for your learning.
Service providers process information to operate VZen, including Clerk for authentication, Convex for application data, Vercel and Cloudflare for hosting and delivery, OpenAI for AI and voice features, and Sentry for mobile error reporting. Information may be processed outside your country. Providers receive information relevant to their role in delivering the service.
Authorized teacher reviewers can access learning interactions when the required teacher-review consent is granted. Access is controlled by permissions. We may also disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect users and the security of the service.
Cookies and local storage
The apps use cookies or similar local storage for sign-in, session management, and app preferences. Blocking authentication storage can prevent sign-in from working.
Retention and security
Account information and learning records are retained to provide your account, learning history, and related service functions. Retention varies by data type; there is no single automatic deletion period for all VZen data. We use access controls and secure connections to protect information, but no service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and requests
You can manage available conversation-processing and teacher-review consent settings in the app. Withdrawing consent does not automatically delete previously stored records. You can revoke Google access through your Google Account connections; revocation does not itself delete your VZen account.
To request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal information or account, email admin@youka.io from your account email. We may verify your identity before handling a request. Some information may need to be retained for legal obligations or security, and copies in backups may remain until those backups expire. Your rights may vary depending on where you live.
Children and updates
If you are a parent or guardian with a question about a child’s information in VZen, contact us at the address above. We will review requests concerning children’s information and the consent needed for its use.
We may update this policy as the service changes. The current version and its update date will be published on this page.
